About me

Industrial production line

I have spent more than 20 years working in and around industrial organisations — starting in quality and manufacturing, then moving into process improvement, technology and automation.

For the past 10 years I have focused on designing, building and scaling business automation, from individual processes to enterprise automation capabilities. This work has spanned Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Sourcing and other operational areas.

Over that time I have built and led automation teams, established governance and delivery standards, worked with both business and technology leaders, and helped take more than 100 automation solutions into production.

My background means that I look at automation from both sides. I understand the technology, but I also understand the operational environment it has to work in — people, processes, exceptions, controls, legacy systems and the realities of running a business.

Today my work spans enterprise automation, SAP integration and AI-enabled solutions. The technology has changed significantly, but the objective has not: find a practical way to make operations work better.

Professional journey

  1. Quality & Industrial Operations

    Evidence · variation · controls

Early work in quality and manufacturing taught me to start from how processes actually behave — variation, controls and real consequences — rather than from how they are supposed to work.

  2. Process & Business Operations

    Customers · processes · outcomes

My work gradually moved closer to business operations, connecting processes and technology with customer needs and practical business outcomes.

  3. Automation

    Scale · repeatability · governance

Automation became the next layer — first delivering individual solutions, then building teams, standards and capabilities that could support automation at enterprise scale.

  4. Enterprise Technology

    SAP · integration · architecture

As automation matured, my work expanded into SAP, APIs, integration and architecture — looking beyond user-interface automation when more robust options were available.

  5. AI-enabled Operations

Variability · certainty · human judgement

AI is the latest addition to that toolkit, opening new possibilities for problems that traditional automation handles poorly while making good judgement about where it belongs increasingly important.
